Berita Iptek: The Best Budget Tablets For Under $350

When it comes to tablets, you are absolutely spoilt for choice. Even if you are on a tight budget, there are plenty of options for you but it’s important to bear in mind that for under $350 (or £200), the choice is narrowed and you are certainly not going to get anything near the quality of an iPad Air for instance.

However, there are some great options so you should be able to get a tablet that suits you and your budget. What’s key is to get the best specs you can for the money, i.e. storage, screen size, pixel density, processor power and battery life. Here are our pick of the top 8 budget tablets; they are all based on a budget of just over $300 or under (that’s £200 or under).

1. Nexus 7 - This is by the far the best tablet in its category. With a great design, good quality screen and rear camera, it really is the best budget tablet on the market. It has a pixel density of 323ppi, resulting in a stunning display that rivals that of the iPad Mini 2. It sports a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core Krait processor and 2GB of memory. The excellent build quality really makes you feel like you have got more tablet for your money.

2. LG G Pad 8.3 - The LG G Pad 8.3 not surprisingly has an 8.3-inch screen that is full HD. Running on Android Jelly Bean, it sports a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 2GB. What makes this stand out from some of the others is the metal finish, which give it the look and feel of a premium tablet, even if you aren't paying a premium price.

3. Tesco Hudl - Priced at just over $150 (just over £100), Tesco's Hudl is a steal. I still find it bizarre that a supermarket has its own brand of tablet but when you look at the specs, that shouldn't put you off. It has a good-quality 7-inch screen, with sharp display and ample storage. It comes complete with a microSD slot and a micro-HDMI port, something which most of the other budget tablets don't offer. I think this is a great choice if you are on a really tight budget.

4. Advent Vegra Tegra Note 7 - Unlike most 7-inch tablets, the Advent Vegra Tegra Note 7 comes with a stylus and sports a powerful Tegra 4 chip, which is fantastic for gaming. The front-facing speakers also provide good sound quality for all your tunes, while the excellent screen and decent battery life help it to compete with any of the budget tablets that are on offer.

5. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 - You would be forgiven for thinking that the Kindle Fire HDX 7 was an actual Amazon tablet but it's not - it's Android. However, Amazon has practically rebuilt it thus allowing you instant access to all of its services like eBooks and LoveFilm. Of course it can also be used for browsing the internet. If you don't mind the limited user interface then this would be a good choice.

6. Acer Iconia A1 - If you are looking to use your new tablet to surf the internet, watch videos and use social networking sites, then this is a great budget tablet. It is just unfortunate that it doesn't have a microSD slot.

7. Archos 80 Titanium - For the money this is a good tablet and don't be put off by the fact that it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean because despite the older version of Google's OS, you still get a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8-inch HD display, front and rear cameras and a microSD slot. Although it doesn't look as good as some of its rivals, this no frills tablet will perform all your basic tasks.

8. Asus MeMo Pad 8 - This 8-inch tablet is the same brand that was behind the Nexus 7. It is well-built and reasonably fast, with 16GB, which can be boosted to 64GB with a microSD. If you are looking for a straight forward device then this could be the right one for you. However it is no where near as good as the Nexus 7 and is not ideal if you want to watch videos.
